Klassik, Romantik, Moderne - eine virtuose Reise

Mit Maja Gombač konnte eine geniale, äußerst ehrgeizige Pianistin gewonnen werden, die trotz ihrer Jugend auf eine ungemein reiche Konzerttätigkeit blicken kann und zahlreiche Wettbewerbe gewonnen hat. Von unwahrscheinlich zahlreichen Auftritten als Solistin mit verschiedenen Orchestern seien erwähnt Saint-Saens`s Karneval der Tiere, das Klavierkonzert Nr. 5, BWV 1056 von Bach, das Klavierkonzert op. 16 von Grieg und das Klavierkonzert Nr. 5 von Beethoven! Sie gewann den renommierten slowenischen Wettbewerb TEMSIG gleich 2 x (als Solistin und im Trio) und ist Preisträgerin von 11 (!) inter nationalen Bewerben. Mit Haydn, Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin und Prokofiev gibt sie auf Albeck Einblick in ihr breites Spektrum von Klassik, Romantik und Moderne! Eine sehr junge großartige Künstlerin!

Biografie:

Maja Gombač began playing the piano  at the age of 8. She currently pursues her studies at the Kunstuniversität Graz in the class of professor Markus Schirmer. She has also studied with prof. Hinko Haas at Music Academy Ljubljana and prof. Imre Rohmann at Mozarteum in Salzburg. She constantly perfects her skills and knowledge at various summer schools and seminars.

During the time of her early music education Maja performed as a soloist in the School production of the Saint-Saens`s Le Carnaval des Animaux, held in the Slovnenian Philharmonic hall. The year after, she debuted as a soloist with the Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, performing the Bach Piano Concerto No. 5, BVW 1056.

During her studies she performed the Grieg Piano Concerto op. 16 in a-minor with Radio and Television Orchestra Slovenia. In June 2015 she performed the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Slovenian National Opera Orchestra. During this season she gave another 10 performances of the Grieg Concerto, this time with the Slovenian National Maribor Opera Orchestra.

She performed series of concerts organized by Music Academy Ljubljana. She also participated in Public Students` Concerts in Wiener-Saal Mozarteum (Salzburg). She played recitals for Music Jeunesse Ljubljana, performed at Festival Ljubljana, Festival Lent, Festival Bled and Piran Sommer Festival. Some of her live performances were recorded for slovenian Radio ARS.

Maja has also given performances in Schaffhausen and Soloturn (Switzerland), as well as on festivals Nel Suoni del Luoghi (Turriaco-Italy), Carintischer Sommer (Ossiach-Austria), Festival Sarajevski Veceri Muzike (Bosnia), Country Club Kitzbühel (Austria), Schloss Albeck (Feldkirchen-Austria), Bavarian Society (München-Germany) and EPTA; European Piano Teachers Association (Manchester-UK).

Maja is a prizewinner of the national competition TEMSIG in categories Piano solo (2013, 2016) and Piano trio (2014). She won 11 awards at international competitions (Verbania, Arenzano, D.Jenko, A.Salieri, Šabac,…). Only during the last semester she received 2nd prize at the Slovenian National Competition, 3rd prize at the Andrea Baldi piano competition in Bologna, 3rd prize at the Xabia piano competition in Spain. She was also a semifinalist of the prestigious Beethoven competition.
